Rand y Jones, the morning DJ for East Kentucky Broadcasting’s WDHR in Pikeville, died this past Sunday at his home. Along with being an active member in the community, he was also the voice of Pikeville High School football and basketball games.”Most people started their day with him. At six a.m. the microphone opened and Rand y Jones was there to say good morning, it’s going to be a beautiful day.

That’s going to be sadly missed, but it’s his contribution to the community that’s really going to be missed,” Keith Casebolt, East KY Broadcasting GM said. Jones was 59 years old. His visitation will begin at six Tuesday night at JW Call and Son Funeral Home in Pikeville.

The funeral will be Wednesday at one.
