The Intersection of Business and Fashion Converges at UA

Morgan were recently given behind-the-scenes access to a global powerhouse in the branded performance, athletic apparel, footwear and accessories industry. Several enterprising from the Family & Consumer Sciences (FACS) program in the School of Education and Urban Studies (SEUS) visited the headquarters of Baltimore-based Under Armour (UA). In addition to touring ’s facilities, the Introduction to Business of class participated in a panel that featured informative discussions surrounding sports apparel, footwear design, and internship opportunities.

“There’s a real practical benefit to and our tour of gave Morgan students the opportunity to meet industry professionals in a new learning dimension beyond the traditional class setting,” said Dr. LaPorchia Davis, assistant professor for the  Department of . “ students are learning industry approaches that will help cultivate their creative problem-solving skills, personal development, and social and cultural identity in their future career fields.”



While onsite at UA, students were also able to interconnect concepts of fashion design, business, innovation, digital technology and sustainability. Project-based learning and exposure to real-world experiences helped reinforce classroom instruction.
