RIP Sherman Hemsley: The Man Known as George Jefferson Has Died at 74

Before becoming a household name, Hemsley served in the for four years — dropping out of high school to do so — before going on to work for the post office for eight years. The is unclear at this point but Sherman Hemsley did pass away with no wife and kids.
