CHICAGO ““ Pandora Chief Strategy Officer and founder Tim Westergren will keynote RAIN Summit Chicago on Tuesday, September 13th, RAIN: Radio And Internet Newsletter (www.kurthanson.com) publisher Kurt Hanson and RAIN Summits president Jennifer Lane announced today.
RAIN Summit Chicago, RAIN’s first conference in its hometown, will immediately precede the NAB/RAB Radio Show 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
Previous keynote speakers at RAIN Summit events have included Bonneville International CEO Bruce Reese (Washington DC, 2010), NPR SVP/Digital Media Kinsey Wilson (Las Vegas, 2010), Pandora CEO Joe Kennedy (Toronto, 2010), and CBS Radio President/CEO Dan Mason (Las Vegas, 2011).
“We’re thrilled to have Tim speaking again at a RAIN Summit,” said Hanson. “He’s helped take Pandora from being on the verge of bankruptcy three years ago (during the CRB royalty crisis) to being one of the top five radio companies in America by enterprise value today. And it’s great that Tim’s willing to share his experience and insights and advice with the industry.”
RAIN Summit Chicago will culminate with the presentation of the second-annual RAIN Internet Radio Awards and the always-anticipated RAIN Reader Cocktail Party (to be held in a ballroom overlooking the Chicago River). RAIN will announce additional speakers and panelists in the coming weeks.
