Oprah Winfrey Pitched Story about Prisons and Solitary Confinement for 60 Minutes Feature

Media icon Oprah Winfrey states she’s always been attracted to the disenfranchised in society so she pitched a story feature to 60 minutes about the solitary confinement and the prison system. Winfrey thinks solitary confinement deserves scrutiny. “If you say, ‘Lock them up and throw away the key,’–yeah, you can throw away the key, but the key’s going to always get found,” says Winfrey. “30 years later, 15 years later, five years later, the key gets found and they’re coming out.” See the video of the report and pitch below. source
