New Music Streaming Service Qobuz Launching Early 2019

New music streaming and download service Qobuz will be launching in the US early 2019.

Qobuz is a music tech company that was founded in France in 2007 and has operations in 11European countries. They bill themselves as the world’s first and only certified hi-res streaming and download service.

And before their US launch, the company says it has opened a headquarter in New York.

There is still no release date revealed but set pricing for the streaming packages has been revealed. Qobuz has four different subscriptions tiers for US subscribers.

The first tier is the Premium tier. It will cost $9.99 a month for MP3 quality streaming.

The second tier is the Hi-Fi tier which will cost $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year. This tier offers CD quality sound.

Next tier is the Studio tier. The Studio tier cost $24.99 a month or $249.99 a year for Hi-Res streaming.

Lastly, the last tier is the Sublime+ tier which cost $299.99 a year. This tier will get you to fill Hi-Res streaming, and discounts on purchases from the Qobuz Hi-Res store.

According to the company offers a catalog of more than 40 million titles from different genres, including music from major and indie labels. In addition to all the music that is available, Qobuz offers a wide variety of paid downloadable albums as part of the Sublime+ subscription.

The company announced the hires of well-known music executives back in July. The hires include US MD Dan Mackta. Warner Music France exec Yann Miossec also joined the company as CEO in April.

When the service launches, Qobuz will be available on Mac/iOS/Android/ Windows operating systems.
