KOKO 94.3 FM Changes to Old School and Throwbacks

theindustry.biz

Big Broadcasting’s KOKO-FM in Fresno, California is moving to a new groove following its switch to Rhythmic-oriented Jammin’ 94.3 FM. The move from Oldies came after 10 straight hours of Bob Marley’s classic “Jammin’” filling the airwaves prior to launching into Tupac and Dr. Dre’s “California Love.”

Jammin’ 94.3 Fresno’s Old School and Throwbacks’ station features a blend of classic and contemporary R&B from the 70s to the 2000s. The music covers artists such as Usher, Keith Sweat and Beyoncé, and features R&B music that listeners know and love, combined with the very best sounds of today.

Big Broadcasting, Inc. owner and legendary air personality, Art Laboe’s syndicated radio program “The Art Laboe Connection” will continue to air Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to midnight and on Sundays from 6 p.m. to midnight on Jammin’ 94.3.

Legendary programmer at the music and imaging helm

The station is being programmed by legendary L.A. programmer, Mike Marino, who successfully launched the Old School and Throwbacks format at KHHT/Los Angeles, KJHM/Denver and KMRJ/Palm Springs.

Mike Marino said, “Our unique blend of old school and R&B throwbacks super serves an adult female audience ignored by other contemporary and gold-based radio stations in the market. Passion levels for this music is off the charts. Fresno will get the ‘feels’ from Jammin.”

Big Broadcasting, Inc. enters into a programming and sales agreement with Envision Networks®, placing the focus squarely on the production, music and on-air image of Jammin’ 94.3 FM.
