Industry vet Kenya Cabine, who was a radio personality and Interim Program Director at E93 & Magic 103.9, has resigned after 20 years with Cumulus Media. Cabine stated: “This is the most difficult thing I’ve ever done, however, change is good! I’m at peace with my decision and excited about my next chapter in life”!Kenya hails from College Park Georgia, a graduate of Savannah State University with a B.A. in Mass Communications, He’s has been in commercial radio for 20 years. He got his start at Savannah State University’s WHCJ public radio station. There he hosted a weekly contemporary jazz show called “The Jazz Supreme”. Kenya then made the transition to Savannah’s heritage station WEAS E93 upon completing his senior year in college.He locally produced the nationally syndicated “Doug Banks Morning Show” and hosted Club 93 Point 1 mix show. In 2000, Kenya moved to Myrtle Beach South Carolina to host the night show at WDAI 98.5 KISS FM. There he had the highest rated show in his time slot and also hosted “The Video Explosion” music video program on the Myrtle Beach Fox affiliate WFXB. Kenya returned to E93 in 2002 in which he was rated the #1 afternoon personality for nine years.While on the air, he appeared on Savannah’s NBC affiliate WSAV’s “Coastal Sunrise” as an entertainment correspondent. Kenya has done it all during his stint at Cumulus Media; Music Director for 5 years, Assistant Program Director for 10 years, but always found time to volunteer in the community.
