– New Live Performances of “Mr. Buddy” & “Higher” Debut on VEVO –

The “crowned prince of jazz” and GRAMMY nominee Jon Batiste, premieres two new singles “Changes” and “Don’t Stop” recorded at Spotify Studios in NYC. The Late Show bandleader vocally and instrumentally delivers a masterful, mind-blowing cover to the late Tupac Shakur’s 1998 GRAMMY award-winning hit “Changes,” as well as a fresh remix of “Don’t Stop,” the first single from his debut album Hollywood Africans released on Verve.

Simultaneously, VEVO exclusively premiered two new pop-soul-jazz live performances, “Mr. Buddy” and “Higher.” Jon also recently served as guest host of the season finale of Live From Here with Chris Thile and honored the late Prince with a sultry, jazz performance of “How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore.” He also showed off his piano chops, tackling everything from Bach to Nat King Cole.

ABOUT JON BATISTE
Jon Batiste is a GRAMMY-nominated internationally acclaimed musician, bandleader, and composer. Born into a long lineage of New Orleans musicians, Batiste is a graduate of The Juilliard School with a master’s degree. Jon has toured globally with his band Stay Human and currently appears nightly on national television as the bandleader and musical director for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Jon is a Forbes 30 under 30 honoree, Musical Director for The Atlantic and Creative Director of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem. Jon released his first solo album, Hollywood Africans in 2018 on Verve which includes the singles “Don’t Stop,” “A Wonderful World,” and “Saint James Infirmary” which garnered him his first GRAMMY nomination as well as an NAACP Image Award nomination. Jon is also currently composing the music and lyrics for the Jean-Michel Basquiat musical currently being developed for Broadway.
