CBS 5 / The CW Bay Area Communications Veteran to Assume Expanded Role as Spokesperson for all CBS Local Media Properties in San Francisco Bay Area
New York ““ Akilah Bolden-Monifa has been named San Francisco Bay Area Market Communications Director, CBS Local Media, effective immediately; it was announced today by Anton Guitano, Chief Operating Officer, CBS Local Media.
Bolden-Monifa, who has served as Communications Director at KPIX-TV (CBS 5) and KBCW-TV (The CW Bay Area) since December 2002, is assuming a new and expanded role which is designed to better manage and grow the public relations function for all of the CBS Local Media properties in the Bay Area: CBS 5, The CW Bay Area, KCBS All News 740 AM / 106.9 FM, Alice @ 97.3, Live 105.3 FM, 997 NOW, KFRC-AM and the stations’ online assets, including CBS San Francisco.co

Bolden-Monifa will continue to report locally to Ron Longinotti, President and General Manager, CBS 5 and The CW Bay Area, and also to Doug Harvill, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, CBS RADIO San Francisco . In addition, she will report to Mike Nelson, Vice President, Communications, CBS Television Stations, and Karen Mateo, Vice President, Communications, CBS RADIO.
In addition to her responsibilities as Communications Director at CBS 5 and The CW Bay Area, Bolden-Monifa also serves as producer of CBS 5’s weekly public affairs show “Bay Sunday,” and three ethnic heritage month celebrations each year. She also oversees the internship program at CBS 5 and The CW Bay Area.
Prior to joining CBS eight years ago, Bolden-Monifa was a media trainer for non-profit organizations and, before becoming a public relations professional, worked as a lawyer and law professor.
