I don’t believe that ANY city is the music capitol anymore unless you play country,then it’s Nashville. I have friends through the internet in all parts of the world that produce and sell their music right from their in home studios. All you need is the equipment to record a professional cd, money for video production, and set yourself up with Tunecore to sell on Itunes and Amazon.Throw up your videos on Youtube, and promote the hell out of it on the web. You can sell 50,000 units on your own and make more money than a major label will pay you for going platinum. The new music capitol is the internet. No one is listening to the radio anymore,and the indies ain’t paying $100,000 per single for payola(yes,payola). Try getting your shit played on the radio without paying somebody and see how far you get. It’s viral now,and that’s why radio is in the trouble it’s in. The people out there know what’s real,and it ain’t what the majors are pushing through radio today.
