Patti LaBelle, Sarah Dash and Nona Hendrick are teaming up after 33 years to do a new LaBelle CD. The three women who have almost reached senior citizen status decided it was time. They will change some of the song titles and lyrics to reflect the new decade and their new age.
1. You are My Friend will now be “You are My Nurse”
2. Lady Marmalade will now start off… “Hey sister, soul sister old sister, old sister…”
and “Isn’t it a Shame” will now be called “I’m still in such pain”
The CD is due this fall…
In addition, sources tell us that Patti almost went left again at the recent concert in New York where she shared billing with Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight and Diana Ross. Patti asked a fan up on stage to sing with her when he changed the lyrics to “Patti You’re Gonna be my Baby Tonight….” Patti stopped the band and said, “What did he say?” The audience held their breath when she came back, looked at him and said, “I’m not Lil Kim or Foxy Brown…I’ll have my security come up here and ….” The man quickly turned what could have turned ugly around and said, “No Patti, I mean I’ll take you out to dinner with me and my wife and we can hang out and be friends… ” Patti quickly changed her tune and gave the man a hug. He must have saw the video where she absolutely HUMILIATED a fan at a St. Louis concert. Patti has had her reps get the previous video removed from Youtube but the fan should have lambasted her ass with a lawsuit for defamation of character.
