CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) – A new radio station format with a familiar name took over the airwaves of Chattanooga on Friday evening. The name will sound familiar to a lot of listeners. The River radio station on 103.7 has become KISS-FM 103.7 as a comptemporary hits station.
To help launch the new music, KISS-FM will play 20,000 songs in a row commercial free over the Labor Day weekend. KISS-FM is owned by Clear Channel, based in San Antonio, Texas. According to CC Chattanooga Vice President and Market Manager Mark Bass, “This is just what Chattanooga needs. We’re looking forward to once again making KISS-FM part of the community.”
Clear Channel Chattanooga Operations Manager Jay Cruze says, “We are very excited about bringing Chattanooga’s heritage contemporary hits radio back on the air where it’s supposed to be. It’s been a long time coming!” KISS-FM used to be on 98.1 in Chattanooga before switching to a classic country (98.1 The Legend) in 2007. Other stations in the Clear Channel Chattanooga radio family include US-101 and Rock 105. The radio station’s new Web site is www.kisschattanooga.com. [source]
