The Tom Joyner Morning Show Adds Lexington’s Groovin 1580AM as its Newest Affiliate
Beginning this week, The Tom Joyner Morning Show has gained a new affiliate home at Groovin 1580 AM in Lexington, KY. The morning show, with host Tom Joyner and co-hosts Sybil Wilkes and J. Anthony Brown, can be heard Monday-Friday from 6:00am ET to 10:00am ET. “When we launched Groovin 1580 AM we asked the listeners what they wanted from the radio station and over and over again we got the request to bring back the Tom Joyner Morning Show to the market,” said Michael Jordan, operations manager, Clear Channel Radio–Lexington. “From the day he signed on Tom Joyner has been a winner on morning radio, so we are thrilled to have such a proven talent on Groovin 1580AM.”
Groovin 1580 AM, is a new urban radio station in the area recently launched on May 1, 2008. It’s a 10,000 watt AM station covering all of Central Kentucky. The new format, designed by the listeners in Central Kentucky, plays old school hits from the 60′s,70′s & 80′s. “We feel our audience will really respond to the combination of Tom’s energy and humorous insights mixed in with the old school hits that have been absent from the Central Kentucky radio air waves for years,” says Jordan. “Groovin 1580 AM and the TJMS is sure to attract adults looking to be informed, entertained and empowered.”
The Tom Joyner Morning Show is a nationally syndicated urban radio show which is aired in over 115 markets, reaching nearly eight million listeners every week. Along with the main hosts, the show also features a talented supporting cast including news analysis with Jacque Reid, the Celebrity Snitch Huggy Lowdown, political commentary by Tavis Smiley, and celebrity news with Jawn Murray, as well as comedic observations and lifestyle tips from Sheryl Underwood and D.L.
