Largest Collection of Free-to-View Feature Films Now Available for Nearly All Tablet Devices and all Android Smartphones
SnagFilms today released the most popular titles in its acclaimed independent film library via new free film-streaming apps for Amazon’s Kindle Fire, Android-based smartphones and a broad range of tablets using the Android and Blackberry® Playbook™ Tablet platforms. This new app brings 400 non-fiction, fiction and foreign films, available for free, to mobile devices, leveraging the Adobe® AIR® runtime environment.
In all, the SnagFilms app will now be available on more than 50 smartphone models and 10 seven-inch and ten-inch tablet types. In addition to the Kindle Fire and the Blackberry Playbook, tablets include the Motorola Xoom ™, Samsung Galaxy Tab™ and HTC Flyer. These launches follow the introduction of SnagFilms’ critically-acclaimed iPad app earlier this year. Together, SnagFilms’ mobile apps are now available on 95% of the tablets currently sold in the US. SnagFilms is also launching apps for connected TVs, with an app for Sony connected TVs now available and apps for other TV brands to come later this month.
“Just in time for the holidays comes the gift of great films, provided by SnagFilms on all major devices,” said Rick Allen, SnagFilms’ CEO. “If you have a Kindle Fire, a smartphone with an Android operating system, or any major tablet device, just download our free app in your App Store. And if a new connected TV ends up under your tree, look for our Smart TV app. When you want great movies, trust SnagFilms – we’re all around you.”
The SnagFilms apps set the standard for movie fans, providing the greatest number of award-winning independent films available for free on each device. With these newest offerings come new features, including a personalized queue, and an enhanced search feature that surfaces films by title, popularity and topic, or most recent additions. The apps were developed by Digital Primates.
So whether you’re home for the holidays or on the road, curl up with loved ones, your favorite device, and SnagFilms’ huge library of compelling films. Fast, free and fabulous – and ready when you are.
