Singer Phoebe Snow Dies

I know this is not something urban radio people would generally be interested in but I could certainly appreciate her music and legacy. Singer-songwriter Phoebe Snow died on April 26, 2011 in Edison, NJ from complications of a brain hemorrhage she suffered last year. She was 60. Snow remains best known for her self-titled 1974 debut album, which contained the hit single “Poetry Man” and earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist. Snow spent (and sacrificed) a great deal of her career taking care of her special needs daughter who was mistakenly strangled by the doctors that delivered her causing massive brain damage. Ironically her daughter died at the age of 31 of a brain hemorrhage as well.
