The trial in New York state court in a dispute over funding the buyout of Clear Channel Communications Inc. (CCU) will begin at 2 p.m. EDT Tuesday, a court official said.
The start of the trial had been delayed Monday as a group of banks and buyout firms Bain Capital LLC and Thomas H. Lee Partners had been in settlement discussions. It was unclear Tuesday morning if those talks had been shelved. Read the whole story here

CLEAR CHANNEL KATZ ADVANTAGE HIRES FIVE EXECUTIVES AS PART OF ITS MARKETING GROUP BUILD-UP
Clear Channel Katz Advantage (CCKA) today announced the continued expansion of its marketing group with the addition of five new executives.
Earlier this year, Marketing Advantage unveiled a dramatic expansion of its business development group to help chief marketing officers, brand managers and media professionals better understand the advantages of using radio’s multiplatform assets.

This latest group of new hires will add to the marketing staffs in Chicago and Los Angeles , as well as CCKA’s new office in San Francisco .
* Byron Best joins CCKA from Muse Communications, where he served as Director of New Business. He has almost 20 years of experience in the marketing and advertising fields. Best’s background involves stints at Reebok International, Viacom Retail Group and Carol H. Williams Advertising. He will serve as Director, Marketing Advantage, in Los Angeles .
* Pamela Bodden, a former Katz employee, returns as Manager, Marketing Advantage, for CCKA’s Los Angeles office. Prior to her return, Bodden was a Senior Account Manager with Clear Channel’s 92.3 KHHT in Los Angeles . Bodden also held positions at 94.7 KTWV in Los Angeles , the Tokyo American Club and Network Dimensions.
* Abbe Cherkaoui is returning to the U.S. from Paris , France , after spending five years as head of her own company, the International Sales Strategy Group. Cherkaoui joins CCKA as Manager, Marketing Advantage, and will be responsible for opening CCKA’s new San Francisco office. Cherkaoui held a number of sales and marketing positions with Univision Radio, South Central Communications and Breakthrough Marketing.
* Christy Flynn will become a Director, Marketing Advantage, in Los Angeles . Having previously held positions with Katz, Flynn returns after serving as Director of New Business Development with Interep. She also held positions with Lotus Entravision Rep, Excel Communications and Hall Broadcasting.
* Heidi Kolasinski comes to CCKA as Director, Marketing Advantage, Chicago, with strong agency experience after previously holding positions with BBD &O and DDB. Kolasinski most recently served as Account Director/Major Accounts with Aquent, where she worked on accounts such as Kraft, ConAgra and Discover.
The growth at CCKA highlights radio’s expansion into the online, on-demand, mobile text, real-time data and digital broadcast arenas.
