He is reportedly gearing up to sue his ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins for defamation after she publicly accused him of causing the fire that burned down her Long Island, New York home. Born Curtis Jackson, 50 has been locked in a bitter court battle with Tompkins, the mother of his 11-year-old son Marquise, for months, after he tried to evict them from the home, which he owns.
"There comes a point where you can no longer sit on your hands and listen to her spread these falsehoods. Besides hurting his reputation, they have a damaging impact on their son," said attorney Brett Kimmel.
Contestants to vie for a spot to star in rapper 50 Cent’s New Reality Show
DETROIT, MICHIGAN (Monday, June 09, 2008) –HOT 102.7 is hosting the casting directors for MTV Networks are in Detroit on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 looking for contestants to appear on a new reality show it will produce for multi-platinum, award winning rapper and hip hop entrepreneur 50 CENT. Detroit is one of only 8 cities nationwide to host a local casting call. Mogul in the Making, the show’s tentative title, will be an “elimination style reality show following 16 contestants as they attempt to master the skills that took 50 Cent from the streets to corporate America ,” according to a statement release by MTV.
Interested parties should must be over the age of 18 and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. The Detroit casting call information is below:
First off, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is a HUGE star. The burning of his home has garnered headlines in newspapers worldwide. His son's mother seems to be willing to talk about 50 to anyone who will listen and the first thing she is telling the newspapers is that 50 has yet to check on his son after the blaze destroyed his home and the son and his mother were in it. Shaniqua Tompkins also is accusing 50 of being the mastermind behind the fire (I don't think he's THAT stupid). The rap star has been trying to evict her from the house. Tompkins, who 50 never married, in turn, countersued in Manhattan Supreme Court claiming she's entitled to half of 50's fortune. Ironically, the blaze ignited just days after Tompkins' boyfriend and two of his friends got into a fight with 50's bodyguard at the Manhattan office of Tompkins' lawyer.

Police busted a member of 50 Cent's entourage early last Tuesday for allegedly roughing up a woman at the rap star's mansion in Farmington, Conn. According to police, Dwayne McKenzie, 27, beat an unidentified 22-year-old female with a belt following a nasty spat. Officers responding to the call noticed visible injuries on the victim. Fiddy's pal was taken into custody around 3 a.m. and booked for assault, strangulation, breach of peace and unlawful restraint. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond and ordered to report in court July 15.

First let's take a look at Ja Rule. 50's consistent rants and criticism of him helped demolish the rapper's career as 50 continued to rise. While that could have been looked at as happenstance, what happened to Cam'rom after his beef with 50 over the whole Dipset/Jim Jones controversy? After summarizing that "50 looks like a Gorilla with Rabbit teeth" (that was funny) Cam was insulted when 50 exposed Cam's deal with Koch records as imminent career death and that Koch was the graveyard of the industry. Finally, there's The Game, his break-up-to-make-up beef with 50 probably made little difference in the end to 50 as The Game has financial obligations to 50 either way. Say what you may about 50, but he has proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that he can destroy careers and build his own at the same time. In addition, he's a savvy businessman.
