For those of you who read RF on a regular basis, you know that we originally broke this story last October. It appears that our prediction is correct and Radio One will be making a major announcement early this week concerning the sale of a station in a major market.
Out of respect for staff members, some of which are industry friends of mines. I will not disclose which station it is. Our sources informed us that the sale of the station was considerably less than Radio One paid for it but eliminating the outlet from the corporation’s roster will be of greater benefit to the bottom line. The format will change. When you hear about it, you will know what I’m talking about….
