OK, I must admit, I was very young when Aretha made her impact on the world of R&B, I was looking at some videos last night and I have to honestly say, she deserves her Queen of Soul title. Black women were not singing like this in the 60s and 70s (sans Patti LaBelle and Chaka) but the harmony was tight and Aretha was on point doing her more soulful rendition of Dionne Warwick’s “Say a Little Prayer” Can you believe this video is almost 40 years old…?
