When will commercial radio learn? When will commercial radio seek NEW talent? Why hasn‘t Jones approached satellite radio for a show? Clear Channel‘s Power 99 morning host Tarsha Jones, aka Jonesy, has been fired from the radio station as a result of a lawsuit filed by a woman named Tracey Parson who claims that Jones accused her of beating up teenaged girls. The woman runs a Kiddie Care in Philly and states the allegation by Jonsey has not only hurt her business but that she has also received death threats. Clear Channel spokeswoman Loraine Ballard Morrill confirms Jonsey’s termination. . The Daily News reported last week on the lawsuit about which Jonesy declined comment. Jones, who calls herself the “Most controversial diva in radio” (who knew?) once worked on 100.3 The Beat in Philly and she was suspended over comments about Whitney Houston’s family there. Then at her most prestigious gig at Hot 97 in New York she was suspended over “The Tsunami Song,” a ruthless parody of the tsunami that devastated Sri Lanka. Jonesy and Miss Info got into a heated argument during the segment when Info wanted nothing to do with the parody, resulting in Jonesy attacking Info’s Asian descent. In February, the controversial host took a call from a listener who claimed to be pregnant with NFL star Chad Ochocinco and later the station posted a photo of a different woman, not the caller, who was not pregnant. That situation also led to a suit. Jonesy, once a singer known as Miss Jones on Motown records continues to garner ratings but apparently the lawsuits are too much for the corporation to sustain her. Comments were brutal with very few, if any, in her favor with people calling her everything from “trash” to “she looks like her panties stink” see for yourself… here
