Clear Channel Philadelphia Operations Manager Thea Mitchem announced today that Johnny V. is the new Power 99 fm afternoon Drive air personality. Johnny has successfully held down afternoons since the beginning of this year. In addition to his air shift – Johnny V. will also serve as Power 99 fm’s Online Content Coordinator. Mitchem says “Johnny’s enthusiasm, talent and commitment make him perfect for this dual role.” Previous to his appointment, Johnny V. was Director of Community Programs for WXAC FM in Reading, PA and was a well known DJ working with legends like Jazzy Jeff and Doc. B. A graduate of Reading High School , Johnny V. also attended Alvernia College in Reading, PA where he majored in communications.
Mitchem also announced that Edwin R. (“Eddie F”) Fennell has been appointed Assistant Music Director of Power 99 fm. Fennell is truly a Power 99 fm success story – starting his career at the station as an intern in 2001. Fennel proceeded to become an integral part of the station’s operation, as morning show producer, part time air personality and assisting in imaging and production. Says Mitchem, “There are times in your career when you meet a fellow colleague and know they have the potential to make it all the way. Eddie F. has grown into an excellent professional, with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and a true grasp of programming. This promotion allows Eddie to get the recognition in the industry that he truly deserves and propels him on the path to meet his full potential.” Fennell is a lifelong resident of Philadelphia. He graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School and is a graduate of LaSalle University where he majored in communications.
