Well thank God we can take a break from all the industry deaths. Never seen this many in a row. Sorry that I have not sent out the blast as much. I am working on my non-profit business and had to get that rolling.
Sources have informed me that Emmis is actually trying to get DL Hughley BACK at the station in some capacity. I know what you are asking.. WHY… especially since the station is up a share and Jackie Reid and Bob Slade are doing the morning show for now. I don’t know… sh…, do you expect me to know EVERYTHING? (lol) I’m guessing since Emmis is currently suing investors that are preventing them from going private they realized what a great bargain DL was at just 35k a year. DL must have ONLY been doing it for that pocket change in the hopes of getting a syndicated show. He needs to let me manage him and I can get him the syndicated show that he wants. Oh, I’m supposed to be against syndication… well sh…, in this economy, if something pays… I’m all for it even when I’m against it. (lol) I have to ask myself why Steve Harvey didn’t use DL as his fill in since they are supposed to be good friends. Probably because DL is more intelligent and he has a more intellectual brand of humor…
Several PDs have informed me that KKDA’s Micheal Erickson has been BOMBARDED with packages from PDs who want that job. Problem is, according to sources, most experienced PDs in urban may not be a good fit and may clash with Erickson who hails from San Francisco radio a non existent urban radio maket. I pointed out to these PDs to “Shut the fook up, you’re just mad cause YOU can’t get the job!” No actually I pointed out that KKDA has a history of hiring small market PDs and training them… Skip Cheatham was a small market PD when they hired him remember? In conversations with my PD collective, I asked “What do you think is going to happen to Skip Cheatham?” Almost all of them didn’t know and one of them made a suggestion. He should go over to Radio One’s Dallas station and do afternoon drive since he has built such an incredible brand in the market. The PDs agreed they could see that but they said he won’t even get half the money he made at KKDA. I told them sh…, he won’t even get 1/8 the money but he will be able to keep his outside activities going and he could give KKDA a run for the money. Word is the station did NOT include a non-compete in his contract and he is being paid that $800,000 salary for another year. Personally, if I was Skip. I would use my sports connections and get a commentator gig. He has the look and the knowledge and I think he would do very well in that arena. Sh…, in this industry you must move up and the Radio One opportunity would not even be a lateral move it would be a downgrade to keep doing what he has been doing for the past 15 plus years.
Westwood One has allegedly dropped Rand y Jackson’s Hit List. Why, sh… urban stations were not interested in the show… AND Westwood One didn’t promote and market the show on urban sites. I’m hearing Gail King is going to be dropped next as several stations have complained to me about the show. Westwood One has learned a valuable lesson.. Black shows do not work on non black stations… Gee, I wonder why? Can someone help me to understand ? Well in all fairness white shows don’t work on urban stations either. I hate that the industry is so divided and that racism is alive and thriving in our industry (Kevin bangs his head into the wall saying “Bad Guy you talked about racism.. what’s wrong with YOU”). There must be an urban station out there SOMEWHERE willing to add Rush Limbaugh (lol). Rand y probably would have worked had they marketed it to urban but I’m not sure Rand y ever made a connection with urban radio even during his industry tenure and you know how urban radio is… it’s a conservative, group think, radio vet only industry. Rand y has never been a radio vet… but then again neither was Steve Harvey or Michael Baisden.
The Eddie Long controversy has been very quiet. I believe he made those boys suck his dick.. he just LOOKS like a fake DL hypocrite who has a DIRE need for attention. One thing’s for sure, he is talking to his lawyers right now to find a way to figure out how to pay his former boy toys and their attorney so they will shut the fook up and he can get back to his collection of wigs and cult of followers (lol). Would somebody please tell Ed he looks like a fooking fool with those wigs (lol). I mean his wife (beard) his kids (victims of deceit) his congregation (a cult) sh… his damn MOMMA … SOMEBODY should tell him (lol). You have to ask yourself, does he ever pass a mirror, sh… a rear view mirror and catch of glimpse of himself? If he did he should immediately say, “You know, this wig just isn’t working” and immediately take it off and toss it to the streets. (I kill me). I will also guarantee you he will NEVER talk negatively about gay people again. He now realizes if he does, it will be an IMMEDIATE reflection on him, his wig and his hypocrisy (lol). I’m sure he has informed Berni-ce King to do the same. I despise when people use religion and hypocrisy to do their dirt.
I have to go and help a friend get her car towed to the shop.. Never-ending stuff folks
