Longtime music industry veteran Jerry Clark has been named Vice President of So So Def/Island -Def Jam. Clark was previously president of SRC South/Universal.
In his new position, Clark will report directly to Jermaine Dupri, president of urban music for So So Def/Island -Def Jam.
Clark, who assumed his new position on January 14, said, “It’s a great situation for me to work with Jermaine Dupri and his awesome team at So So Def/ Island /Def Jam. I look forward to working with him and his label as they continue to make lasting contributions to the music industry.”
Said Dupri, “For years I’ve been watching the impact that Jerry has had on the many artists he has worked with both in Atlanta and nationally. It’s a perfect fit for us to be on the same team. Jerry’s knowledge and understand ing of our ever-evolving music industry and the needs of artists will go a long way in helping us to reach our goals as a label.”
Clark will continue to be based in Atlanta.
