Hotel BPM, the musically inspired Brooklyn boutique hotel that was just launched by hip-hop DJ, BIJAL, is excited to announce a new Facebook contest. The musically inspired hotel has teamed up with Scratch DJ Academy, co-founded by Jam Master Jay of Run DMC, to provide its Facebook fans with an amazing opportunity to win a hotel stay and a complimentary DJ 101 course at Scratch DJ Academy.
Starting now and running through January 31, 2013, anyone who wants a chance to learn the skills it takes to rock the crowd and play a killer set is invited to submit a short video explaining why they want to be a DJ via the Hotel BPM Facebook page. Participants will be competing for the opportunity to hone their DJ skills with a semester at Scratch DJ Academy. Following the submission period, fans of the page will be encouraged to vote for their favorite videos through February 1st and Hotel BPM Visionary and Founder BIJAL himself will use the fans feedback as a guide in selecting a grand prize winner.
“I wish I had the chance to learn from a school like the Scratch DJ Academy and I am very excited to provide aspiring DJs the opportunity to make their dreams come true,” said BIJAL, Founder of Hotel BPM. “We couldn’t have aligned ourselves with a better partner than Scratch DJ Academy, founded by the legendary Jam Master Jay, to bring our fans this amazing contest.”
With the goal of lowering the barrier of entry to the DJ art form Scratch DJ Academy offers access to amazing instructors, proven curriculum state-of-the-art equipment, and scholarship opportunities. The course offerings range from beginner to performance ready levels in both DJing and Music Production. The DJ 101 course is a perfect starting point for the aspiring DJ to learn the basics of DJing. For more information on all of the course offerings, please go to www.scratch.com/courses.
The grand prize winner will be announced via the Hotel BPM Facebook page on February 4,2013 and will receive one complimentary night at Hotel BPM Brooklyn and a complimentary 6 week DJ 101 course at Scratch DJ Academy.
