We should have known it would not take long for the Rap politician to make a comment about Alicia Keys statement on Gangsta rap. I for one believe her, with ad revenue for magazines down by almost 50%, magazines are desperate and they will twist up what celebs say to attract controversy and sales, as in this case. Rap superstar Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson however isn’t buying that and states that he has changed his perception of Alicia Keys after reading about her infamous “Gangsta rap” remark saying that it wasn’t a “bright comment.” The R&B songstress has been quoted by Blender magazine as saying, “Gangsta rap was so over-sloganized during that time.” Her comment had made such a buzz that the 27-year-old “Fallin” singer released a statement explaining that she had been “misinterpreted.” She had said, “Anyone who knows me and my character, knows that I am not a conspiracy theorist or, by implication, a racist. My comments about ‘gangsta rap’ were in no way trying to suggest that the government is responsible for creating this genre of rap music. 50 States “I don’t like Alicia Keys no more though… the same reason why I said that I don’t like Oprah Winfrey.” (like Oprah gives frequent flyer fook).
President 50 went on to say… “I’m prejudice[d]. I don’t like people who don’t like me. If you don’t like the content that I write because of my experiences; I am being who I am when I am writing it. I fall into that ‘label’ as far as you considering artists creating ‘Gangsta music,’ we fall into that. If she don’t like that, [then] I don’t like that classical music sh… she be doing. At some point she’s playing some sh… that don’t relate to me. We listen to it and try to figure out why people actually enjoy it. I am trying to enjoy it. That statement changes my perception of Alicia Keys totally.”
