Clear Channel Radio Chicago names Tony Coles programming V. P.









Clear Channel Radio Chicago named Tony Coles vice president of programming and operations of its six-station cluster and program director of WLIT-FM 93.9, effective Sept. 2, and upped Rick O’Dell to program director of WNUA-FM, effective immediately. The two effectively assume the duties of Darren Davis, who was named senior vice president of radio programming for all of Clear Channel on June 30. Coles, who joined Clear Channel four years ago, has been regional vice president of programming for Clear Channel Radio Northwest, which includes stations in Alaska, Washington State, Oregon, Utah and Hawaii. He also was operations manager for Clear Channel Radio in Portland , Ore., and program director of adult contemporary KKCW-FM there. Previously, Coles worked in Seattle, New York, Los Angeles, Fort Wayne, Ind., and Columbus, Ohio. O’Dell has been with WNUA since 1989 and will continue as its music director and an on-air personality.
