ASPiRE Celebrates Freedom & Independence all JULY

LaurenceFishburneIn July, ASPiRE celebrates our nation’s freedom and independence with liberating “Groundbreaking Movies“ on Thursdays, hosted by award-winning actor laurence fishburne (Man of Steel), along with a special, nostalgic “Soul Train” Party marathon on July 4th. All of this month’s Groundbreaking Movies ““ including Bird; Cry, The Beloved Country; Foxy Brown; and Jasper, Texas ““ are network premieres. In addition, original talk series “exhale” (@exhaleTV) returns with all-new episodes each week, starting Wednesday, July 10. The first four episodes of this honest, entertaining and candid show will air back-to-back in a fun, marathon-viewing encore on Saturday, July 27. All times below are EDT:

Thursday, July 4
4th of July Soul Train Party ““ 2:00-8:00 p.m. ““ Six back-to-back classic “Soul Train” episodes featuring artists who soon would become game-changers in music and entertainment, including Janet Jackson, Run D.M.C, New Edition, Atlantic Starr, T-Pain, and Brian McKnight.

Bird (network premiere) ““ 8:00 and 11:30 p.m. – A humanistic and unknown look at the life of one of the greatest jazz soloists and developers of bebop, Charlie Bird Parker. (Stars: Forest Whitaker, Samuel E. Wright and Keith David). Hosted by laurence fishburne.

Wednesday, July 10th
exhale ““ “Health & Wellness” (premiere) — 8:00, 9:00 and 11:00 p.m. ““ The ladies of “exhale” get to the heart of one of the biggest issues impacting the lives of black women, health. The hosts are joined by experts and survivors who explore dieting and nutrition, secrets to becoming both mentally and physically fit and preventing illnesses devastating African American women like heart disease and HIV/AIDS.
