Arbitron Inc. (NYSE: ARB) has launched a Web site for diary-measured markets. The site, located at http://www.arbitron.com/diary, is a “one-stop” information resource for subscribers in diary-measured markets of all sizes.
The site provides visitors with easy access to online tutorials, “on demand ” training courses and other information focused on the unique needs of radio stations in diary-measured markets. The training options provide in-depth instruction on qualitative reporting, understand ing research terminology and “how to” information on building an effective radio schedule.
Visitors can also find detailed information on Arbitron’s qualitative lifestyle information services, including qualitative information via Scarborough for large markets, Retail Direct for medium-sized markets and Qualitative Diary for small markets.
Site content also includes a unique “Ask Tom” feature, where viewers can submit questions directly to Arbitron’s newly appointed Vice President of Diary Market Development Tom O’Sullivan.
“With all of the news and advancements in the radio industry today, Arbitron’s diary work is often overshadowed and the maintenance and improvements overlooked by the industry,” said Mr. O’Sullivan. “It’s important to keep in mind that even after PPMTM implementation, 250 markets will still be measured with the Diary. In March of this year, Arbitron announced a significant upgrade to its diary processing center with the opening of a new state-of-the-art facility in Columbia, Maryland . The new venue is increasing productivity, efficiency and accuracy for diary processing.
