76ers Point Guard New 100.3 The Beat DJ

Philadelphia, PA – You know Lou Williams. Especially if you have Sixers season tickets. For the record, Lou Williams is the 21-year-old, 2 year veteran Point Guard for the 76ers with a refreshingly good head on his shoulders, and …consequently, an on-air dream. Come true.

Starting Sunday, February 24, 2008— Lou Williams, aka Lou Will, will dribble, free throw, and do all the things that NBA point guards do during the week– then crack the mic on the weekend as WPHI’s newest on-air talent. Colby Colb, PD for WPHI says: “Lou Will is an exciting player for the Sixers and will most definitely be an exciting player for ‘The Beat’. Lou Will is well known for being one of the few to join the NBA straight out of high school and one of the fewer than that to join the Hip Hop radio broadcasting ranks straight off the basketball court. According to Elroy Smith, Operations Manager for the Radio One Philadelphia Cluster, “This is an unusual twist for me, to have a basketball player fascinated by the radio medium. When I sat down with Lou, I saw and heard his genuine passion for wanting to be on the air. 100.3 The Beat will be a perfect match for Lou Williams. I predict this marriage to be very powerful.” Williams was also recently featured as the cover story for Drive Magazine’s December issue, where he is quoted as saying: “ I do things for myself…and I pride myself…because you’ve never heard my name on the news or anything negative about me personally. I carry myself as a young adult and that’s one of the things I’m most proud of.”
