Smoke briefly evacuates Knoxville radio stations

There was a scare at a local radio station Monday night.

A small electrical fire sent smoke through the Citadel building on Old Kingston Pike in West Knoville. The studios of WIVK-FM, WNOX-FM, WNML-AM, and WOKI-FM are located there.

Knoxville Fire Department spokesman D.J. Corcoran says a sub pump in the basement caught fire. He says small electrical fires like that send out a lot of smoke.

The building was evacuated while firefighters cleared the building. There were about a dozen people working at the time.

No one was hurt. There are no reports of any damage to the building.
