This past Friday Citadel media made more changes in the urban division after the company eliminated 2 sales reps; Allie Carrington in New York and Anthony Mootry in Chicago. The company is obviously revamping the urban division and as part of that The Ride with Doug and DeDe and The Brian McKnight Show have been canned along with several employees affiliated with those shows. Nobody in the industry has debated those two shows being canceled to Radio Facts at presstime but we have heard the Brian McKnight show is about as good as Keith’s Sweat’s show… and that’s not considered a compliment. The rumors are that other syndication companies are looking at picking both shows up, most certainly because they are already affiliated with stations but I can’t say that’s a wise decision. One thing I can say about Doug that I can’t say about Tom Joyner, Steve Harvey or Michael Baisden, at LEAST they have a young person on the show under 40 (dude with black looks under 40). Sometimes, it’s JUST TIME to move on and create opportunities for new talent. As far as the hosts, know when to hold em and know when to fold em. Know when to walk away when the dealin’s done!
