That Beat LA flashback piece REALLY was a time warp for me…..WOW. I moved to LA in the early 90′s with Columbia Records. John Monds was the P.D. at the Beat and really made a brotha feel welcome in LA. Corndog and all those cats were great. We had a lot of fun back then. That’s when people like Cliff Russell, Eric Thrasher, Fut, Maurice Warfield (Mr. “tryin’ to stay ‘pos”) and a host of others were in the mix. All that West Coast Dre’ shit dominated the radio, The Fugees were trying to find a voice and radio was trying to deny Mariah because we couldn’t decide whether or not to embrace her “multi-culturalness”. Records and radio were still fun back then. That was before Radio Facts! Hey, remember you put me on the cover and I got fired soon after?! Thanks for opening the door for me to go to MCA so Ken Wilson and I could continue our march on ‘Remy’. Extremely proud of you bruh, continuing to weather the industry storm after all these years.
