This past Friday, Arbitron held the monthly press meeting to discuss the progress of the Portable People Meter (PPM). Pierre Bouvard, President of Sales and Marketing focused on urban radio. He talked about the previous anxiety when the system first rolled out in Phily and Houston. Bouvard expressed optimism stating that “urban radio is strong and vibrant in the PPM world.” He also discussed the Feb ratings in New York where WQHT-FM (Hot 97) was #2 overall, with Urban WWPR-FM at #3. He also talked about Houston where KMJQ has placed #1 overall and KBXX (the Box) placed at number 2.
